HOW TO CLEAN VINYL WINDOWS
Durable vinyl windows are designed to be virtually maintenance free, but can be cleaned if necessary. Be sure to read the manufacturer’s instructions and follow specific cleaning instructions to preserve the warranty protection.
Clean vinyl window frames and glass using a soft cloth and soapy water. After washing is complete, wipe the windows with a clean water rinse and dry them, again using a soft cloth. Do not leave soap residue on the window.
Warning: Do not use cleaning products that contain alcohol or ammonia, or any product that contains abrasives or harmful chemicals. Use of these products or methods could void your manufacturer’s warranty.
HOW TO CLEAN GLASS
No matter what type of glass you’re cleaning, follow these universal tips:
Use soap and water, commercial glass cleaner, or a mixture of one part white vinegar and four parts water (preferably distilled water). Avoid cleaning glass in direct sunlight to avoid streaking. Start from the top of the window and work your way down. When washing windows of a multi-story home, start with the second-floor windows.
